The Algona Aktion Club was the first to be established in the Nebraska-Iowa District Kiwanis. Rev. Mark Holmer was the driving force behind this activity. This club became the first SLP ( Service Leadership Program) to be sponsored by any Algona Kiwanis Club.
The Algona Morwens partnered with the Kossuth County Exceptional Opportunities to develop this club.
The Algona Aktion Club meets on the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Algona First United Methodist Church at 5:00 PM.

Aktion Club is a Service Leadership Program that provides adults living with disabilities opportunities to give back to their communities, build leadership and decision-making skills, and develop and use their talents. Ultimately, Aktion Club helps to improve their self-esteem. People living with disabilities—more than anything—want to be treated like everyone else, and Aktion Club allows that to
