Lay Person Of The YearIn 2003 recognition of the Lay Person of the Year was initiated across the Nebraska-Iowa Kiwanis District by Morwens Kiwanis club member Rev. Mark Holmer. This award seeks to honor those Kiwanis members who are active in their home Kiawnis club and their religious communities. Open to lay (non clerrgy) people of all religions, this award salutes those who reflect and practice his or her faith through daily living and participation in the local and wider work of the church, synagogue, temple or mosque. Nominated by Kiwanis club member peers, the Committee on Human and Spiritual Values makes the local club selection. In addition such annual recipients are recommended for division and district level honors
